Drivers License to Kill

Drivers License to Kill

License to killHave you ever heard the term Gone in Sixty Seconds? No, I am not talking about the car racing film featuring Nicolas Cage and Angelia Jolie. I am talking about how quickly somebody dies in an automotive accident due to the mistake of a thoughtless driver.

You might be asking yourself “why did you decide to write about this?” The answer, my fellow Xangans, is simple. Twenty minutes ago I was almost hit by a driver that decided to run a red light while I was crossing the street. For the record, I have seen what reckless driving can do. I have seen the lives of eight young people taken in automotive accidents, many of which died because some dimwit decided to get behind the wheel of his car while intoxicated; be it under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or both. To think that twenty minutes ago I could have been hit by a car, which was going at such a speed that I surely would have been dead, causes me great distress and angers me to the extent where I want to wrap my hands around that barbarian’s neck and strangle the life out of him. Being unable to do that I just have to settle for the absolute blessing of being alive.

Microsoft Apologizes For Their Horrible

balmer_tossMicrosoft has issued an apology via their corporate Twitter feed for what will surely go down as one of the worst photoshops of all-time.

Still, it’s hard not to feel for the guy in the photo having to tolerate this stupidity, so we have an equally horrible photoshop to help balance things out. Hm…

Telephone Answering

Telephone Answering

Telephone answeringThis picture remind me a couples years ago, when I was as student at university and live in boardinghouse. The differences is the rule and the way they charges.

As a student of university and life away from parents, most of us have their freedom, it doesn’t a matter anymore when they got home late or go away outside of town with their friend for a few days, no one will ask, shortly, the way they live were in their hand.

It was fine for the others but nor for most of us who really miss the way they live like when they were live with their parents. A lot of discipline, have a rules, leave a message when they went outside of house, etc.

That’s why at a boardinghouse where I live, there is a whiteboard with the list of the member of the house, and when we were outside of the house we must write where we go. Just write it,  go to campus, have a date, or sometimes they write it with the funny words, “waiting a girls that really love me”, its mean they stay at their room for saturday night. Is the famous social network adopt the system from the simple cases like this one?. I don’t know actually.

Discovery ‘Tarzan’ Author Edgar Rice

Discovery ‘Tarzan’ Author Edgar Rice

tarzanMatt Cohen was visiting his mother and grandmother in Nebraska when talk turned to his Ph.D. dissertation. He told them about his research on masculinity and bachelorhood in the 19th century.

Gee, his mother and grandmother wondered, maybe you’d be interested in the Burroughs letters down in the Navy ammunition box in the basement.

Indeed he was the collection in the old trunk turned out to be a 50-year correspondence between Cohen’s great-grandfather and “Tarzan” author Edgar Rice Burroughs.

“You can imagine how I felt,” Cohen said. “It was this huge, fat collection. There were letters, drawings, postcards, telegrams, photographs and, at some point, there were films, though those are now gone.”

Six years later, Cohen, now an assistant professor of English at Duke University, has compiled the rich collection into “Brother Men: The Correspondence of Edgar Rice Burroughs and Herbert T. Weston,” published this month by Duke University Press. It is the first critical edition of any of Burroughs’ letters.

Cohen’s great-grandfather, Herbert T. Weston, and Edgar Rice Burroughs met at military school in Michigan in the 1890s and maintained a friendship that lasted until Burroughs’ death in 1950. Their lives were very different: Burroughs was an internationally famous, world-traveling writer and businessman who wrote, in addition to “Tarzan of the Apes,” more than 60 novels. He founded the town of Tarzana, Calif., and was involved in the movie and television productions of his work.

Cheesing

Cheesing

Cheesing? till right now, I just confuse, what is the real mean of cheesing, that’s why i just try to find.

from the encyclopedia, I know that cheese is kind of food made from curds of soured milk from cows, sheep, or goats, separated from the whey (liquid), then salted, put into moulds, and pressed into firm blocks. Cheese is ripened with bacteria or surface fungi, and kept for a time to mature before eating.

There are six main types of cheese.

  1. Soft cheeses may be ripe or unripe, and include cottage cheese and high-fat soft cheeses such as Bel Paese, Camembert, and Neufchatel.
  2. Semi-hard cheeses are ripened by bacteria (Munster) or by bacteria and surface fungi (Port Salut, Gouda, St Paulin); they may also have penicillin moulds injected into them (Roquefort, Gorgonzola, Blue Stilton, Wensleydale).
  3. Hard cheeses are ripened by bacteria, and include Cheddar, Cheshire, and Cucciocavallo; some have large cavities within them, such as Swiss Emmental and Gruyère.
  4. Very hard cheeses, such as Parmesan and Spalen, are made with skimmed milk.
  5. Processed cheese is made with dried skim-milk powder and additives, and
  6. whey cheese is made by heat coagulation of the proteins from whey; examples are Mysost and Primost.

So far as i know the sounds like cheers, but in slank its mean run away fast, as fast as my unkwon of this words, is it tru or definetly this is different? Hm… so its no related with the picture?

Cinderella Story

cinderellaA Cinderella story, did you ever heard it when you were child?, sometimes hearing again the old soundtrack from the movie that we ever watch before bring back our memories to a years before.

This is good because not all the good times we have, we forget it because of any reason, the schedule in our office, and any hard schedule of activity out side the office.

I don’t know, maybe there are a lot of version of cinderella in any different country, but in Indonesia its tell about the beatiful princess, an hearing back the soundtrack in different version will nothing to remind us.

When I try to find the list a soundtrack in english version, its so strange song title, because my cinderella maybe different version with your cinderella.

Name

Indonesia, Joke 24 October 2008 | 0 Comments

Name

Just try to type the words “tony” on google image search engine, and its suprising me, I found this picture on the first page.

Why? let say its just a curious, how famous that name on google search engine, and Hmmmm… so so, its not too bad at all.

Around billion people living in one planet, call earth, how many people have the sama name? just the first name or completely name? I don’t know, anyone have the valid source? or someone already try to find and compare?.

How important to have a unique name? or people feel that they will just wasting their time to think a name?, like the famous shakespeare quote “what is a name?”, and what about the reaction when the first time we introduce ourself and say “I’m tony” and they said “wow… the good name” or “beautiful name” or just “nice to meet you”. hehehehehe…..

Hopely, the books that I have been read on the book store “how to give a name” become the best seller.  Did we are similar anyway? :D

Mr Bojangles

Mr. Bojangles

I dont know, what is your opinion about music, and how far music can influence your life. But suddenly, when I heard Mr Bojangles, sing by Robbie Williams. that song feels so different, feels push me away to ten years ago. when I was a single.

Bojang Les, its look like comes from two different word and different meaning in Indonesia language, Bojang means single. and the meaning of the Bojangles, is useless single man, hehehe.. forget it, its just a joke.

The song inspired by a street performer in the New Orleans or by Bill Bojangles Robinson the famou stage and movie dancer, I don’t know, but Robert Peter Maximilian Williams sing that song successfully with his style. Brilliant song, sing by brilliant singer.
