haiti earthquake update | haiti earthquake | haiti earthquake tsunami warning | haiti earthquake video – Haiti hit by a powerful earthquake, the center of the capital, Port Au Prince has been hit hard, this earthquake create a lot of damage in the capital of Haiti and hospital collapsed in the impoverished nation according to earlier reports. Millian away from the center of earthquake felt the quake that is likely to have caused severe damage.
News is still coming in from Haiti even though it’s getting dark. The earthquake occured just before 4pm EST today. Night has now fallen, so we will have to wait to see the damage tomorrow. Thirteen aftershocks above 4.5 have happened since the initial 7.0 quake hit. Check out these photos of the initial damage done and a video news report from the area of the quake below.

The 121st Tournament of Roses Parade, with the theme A Cut Above The Rest, will take place on Friday, January 1, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. (PST) featuring spirited marching bands from throughout the nation, majestic floral floats, and high-stepping equestrian units. Abdurrahman ad-Dakhil Wahid (September 7, 1940 – December 30, 2009)
The former President of Indonesia, Abdurrahman Wahid, has died says reports.
Abdurraham Wahid is a historic figure in Indonesian history, having been the first elected president of Indonesia after the fall of the Suharto regime in 1998.
Abdurrahman Wahid, who was also known as Gus Dur, had been undergoing intensive treatment at a hospital in Jombang, East Java since last Friday, December 25 2009.
Abdurraham Wahid was listed as one of the world’s 500 most influential Muslim figures in a book published by Washington’s Georgetown University in November 2009.
Abdurraham Wahid on September 7, 1940 in Jombang, East Java. He became head of the Islamic organization Nahdlatul Ulama in 1984 and founded the National Awakening Party (PKB) in 1999 before running for president.

Olamide Faison (b. 1983) plays Miles Robinson on Sesame Street. He joined the cast in 2003 as the third actor to play the role, after Miles Orman and Imani Patterson. Faison has worked in television, film and commercials potraying the young Malcolm X in the film “Seven Songs for Malcolm X” and appearing in the 1996 telefilm “Rebound: The Legend of Earl ‘The Goat’ Manigault”.
Faison has also appeared in commercials for Pizza Hut, Chevy trucks and Mattel Toys. In addition to acting, Faison is also a singer and musician. He is the lead singer and the guitarist for the Universal/Motown group Imajin.
Olamide is the youngest brother of Donald Faison, star of the sitcom Scrubs.

Meet Helen Phillips, the ‘Biggest Loser’ winner crowned champion in the 2009 season 7. See her before and after photos, biography, and inspiring video as she went from fat to normal in the Biggest Loser TV contest. She won on May 12th, 2009, beating Tara Costa and Mike Morelli in the final episode.
Tara actually lost more weight but the fatty started with more weight to lose. What matters in the contest is the percent of body weight lost, not the total amount. Beating Tara Costa was considered a surprise since she was the favorite as a former model and youngster at only 23 years old.
In winning, Ms. Phillips became the oldest champion in the history of the show. Her first words were a joyous “Oh My God!” said in disbelief on national television. Cool! [...]

Elzie Crisler Segar might not be a household name, but the Popeye creator has become the latest person to be honoured with his own Google Doodle. The internet search giant has depicted the rambunctious cartoon seaman in typically feisty pose on what would have been Segar’s 115th birthday. Popeye the Sailor – who famously attributed his strength “to the finish” to his consumption “of spinach” – first entered the public consciousness in January 1929, in Segar’s newspaper comic strip Thimble Theatre.
The cartoonist was born in Illinois, US, on 8 December 1894, and showed a talent for drawing at a young age. Segar worked as a film projectionist while studying a correspondence course in cartooning, eventually moving to Chicago to pursue his career. [...]

A consumerwatchdog group goodguide said that the Zhu Zhu pet is toxic and has a chemical called Antimony, a metal with potential health hazards. Dara O Rourke, an associate professor ofenvironmental science at U.C – Berkelye and co founder of goodguide said that if ingested in high levels, it can lead to cancer, reproductive health and other human health hazards.

Experts have noted that a one dimensional focus on nonprofit finances, if not supplemented by other information, can lead a donor/funder to make the wrong decision as to which nonprofit they support. They are correct. Further, they have noted that an overemphasis on overhead is misleading.
