Big Brother 11 Episode 21

big-brother-11-episode-21Okay, as the episode starts we are reminded that the plan is for either Jeff, Jordan, Natalie or Kevin to win the POV and Backdoor Russell. Natalie and Kevin are on the block and are desperate for Jeff and Jordan to follow through with this plan, but with things always changing, they know that the only way to ensure their safety, is to win the Power of Veto. Russell himself realizes that there is a backdoor opportunity and knows he has to give it everything he’s got to win this week’s veto, or he could be going up as a replacement nominee. Really, everything is riding on this veto competition because the game will change completely if any of the three “pairs” are backdoored and split up: Jeff & Jordan, Kevin & Natalie, and Russell and Michele.

In this episode, we witness my favorite couple having their first tiff. Jeff feels that jordan isn’t studying enough and preparing herself for challenges, so he is feeling a lot of extra pressure. I think more than she realizes it, she depends a lot on him. That being said, the two have the STRONGEST bond and more trust than any two people this season. They absolutely have that going for them…especially now when there aren’t many people left.

Russell and Michele feeling paranoid. Understandably, they too feel that they HAVE to win so that they are not backdoored. Russell feels that it has been too quiet and hasn’t been reassured enough about their final four plan, so it is starting to get to him.

In other news, Kevin talks about his sexuality and the houseguests are super supportive, which apparently his family hadn’t been.

Later on, Michele talks to Jordan and Jeff in the HOH room to see where their heads are at. She’s SO BAD at trying to casually talk about this strategy type stuff without seeming like she’s fishing for information and without making the person she’s talking to feel uncomfortable. The three discus that Kevin should go, but Michele does think that Natalie is annoying. The conversation is awkward and Michele leaves, not feeling confident about everything. As soon as she leaves, Jeff & Jordan discuss their concerns about the fact that Michele is being sneaky and not talking a lot about what her and Russell have been discussing. Jeff was frustrated because Jordan didn’t probe Michele for more information, instead leaving it all up to him to do and making him look like the bad guy.

Jeff has been snappy lately and growing frustrated with Jordan’s “I’m Cute / Laissez Faire” approach to their partnership in the game. Jordan says to him, “I don’t like this Jeff, I like the other Jeff.” Jeff is getting quite bitchy the more stressed out he gets. Then Awkwardness walks in (and by Awkwardness I mean Michele) and I guess Jeff got through to Jordan because then she was a little more straight forward when talking to Michele this time around. Again, not as straight forward as Jeff though. Jeff says to Michele, “You’re not safe if you’re on a team with him, I’ll tell you that,” referring to Russell. “Gulp” for Michele.

Prior to the POV competition, Jordan talks to Kevin and Natalie and reassures them on their safety this week. Time to get Bananas! The POV ceremony is banana / Jungle themed, and it is hosted by the kooky voice / rapping of the evicted houseguest, Casey. Since the stakes were so high for everyone, in my opinion, this was the most intense POV competition this season.

Casey rapped from the giant apes belly, rapping about each evicted houseguest without saying their name, and climb back up this slippery slope. Last one back with correct banana is eliminated. Jordan was last in the first round and is out. Next one out is Natalie, putting the pressure on Kevin. In the next round, Jeff and Michele return first and it’s down to Russell and Kevin. Kevin finds his Laura banana, with Russell right behind him, but Russell is the last one up. Now for Russell, it’s all up to Michele, or so he thinks. Jeff has been awesome this whole POV competition, always back first. Then Michele gets hers, but has problems getting up which gives Kevin some time to catch up, but she manages to barely beat Kevin, knocking him out of POV. It’s down to Michele and Jeff. Jeff tries to start playing mind games with Michele to psych her out just in case, but actually ends up getting it first anyway and Jeff wins POV.

Now, just like with his Coup D’Etat, Jeff can do whatever he wants. He is SO in charge of this game. It will be interesting to see, if he does decide to change one of his nominations, who he will take off, Natalie or Kevin, and if he will indeed put up Russell as planned. At this point, I think Russell WILL be put up and Natalie will be taken off because she is less of a threat in challenges anyway. She hasn’t won ANYTHING!

“What’s up?! Jeff turned it up a notch!” says Jeff to Michele as he reflects upon winning POV and HOH this past week. Russell tells Michele that if he is put up as a replacement nominee he will be pissed. I absolutely believe he would lose it. Michele told Russell to go talk to Jeff and figure things out. In the diary room, Russell says,”If something happens and I go up on the block, there will be hell in this house.” Jeff and Jordan discuss that it IS a good opportunity to get rid of Michele or Russell at this stage in the game.

Next, Natalie and Kevin talk to Jeff. Natalie and Kevin tell Jeff that if they take them off the block and they PROMISE (they use this term loosely in Big Brother) not to put him up on the block next week. Natalie then talks to Kevin in private OF COURSE say that they HAVE TO PUT up Jeff next week if they get the chance.

Even if he isn’t put up, Russell says to Michele that he won’t forget the stress that Jeff is putting them through.

Time for the POV Ceremony. Jeff is the Head of Household and the Veto Holder. OMG. Nervous.

He has decided to USE THE VETO on Kevin. Yess. Just as I suspected.

His choice for replacement IS IN FACT Russell. “Now Jeff is the strongest in the house”, says Russell in the diary room. He is right, but if the roles were reversed, I think at this point Russell would have gotten rid of Jeff as well. It will be interesting to see how Russell will make there “be hell in this house” on Thursday’s eviction episode.
